Akar Rectangle Table set in natural light with sculpted root base and floating glass top

Akar Rectangle Table

£1,250.00

Akar Rectangle Table – Teak root dining table with glass top. Each base is formed from a natural teak root, making every piece entirely unique.

Sculptural and grounding, the Akar Rectangle Table pairs a reclaimed teak root base with a clear rectangular glass top. The base is carved and refined by hand in Java using traditional Indonesian woodworking techniques. Each root is left in its natural form, with every curve and branch preserved to honour the original grain and growth. The result is a striking table that appears grown rather than made.

No two pieces are the same - the form, knots, and grain will vary with each base.

  • Avoid placing hot items directly on the wood - use coasters and placemats.
  • Keep the piece away from radiators and out of direct sunlight to minimise cracking and fading.
  • Depending on the finish, an occasional application of a natural oil or wax can help nourish the wood - we’re happy to advise you based on your piece.
