Cahaya Chair

£140.00

The Cahaya Chair combines Indonesian craftsmanship with timeless design. Hand-carved from solid teak, it features a gently curved backrest and elegantly tapered legs. The black upholstered seat offers comfort and contrast to the rich, organic wood grain, which shimmers beautifully in natural light. Each piece is shaped by skilled artisans, making every chair unique.

Named Cahaya, the Indonesian word for light, this chair is inspired by the way sunlight filters through leaves, casting soft shadows across its graceful form. The backrest wraps around you, offering a quiet sanctuary in wood and fabric - perfect for a sunlit reading nook, a serene dining space, or as a statement piece in a contemplative corner. It invites you to slow down, feel grounded, and bask in the beauty of simplicity.

  • Wipe up any spills straight away to prevent staining.
  • Avoid placing hot items directly on the wood - use coasters and placemats.
  • Keep the piece away from radiators and out of direct sunlight to minimise cracking and fading.
  • Depending on the finish, an occasional application of a natural oil or wax can help nourish the wood - we’re happy to advise you based on your piece.
